Morning Voice & Tweaking Marjorie Daw

Brad and I are now doing shorter sessions on a more regular basis at Top Cat Studios. We started mid-morning today and I added a couple of quick vocal lines with a gravelly, very low register morning voice! The first line was a simple low emphasis on a single word "war" in "Merlin's Song". It sat quite well in the mix and added a darker tone to the word.

Next we added a long bass drone into the outro of "The Sword in the Stone". In this outro, there is a whole bunch of stuff happening, including some high register harmonic singing which now combined with today's new low drone to give an even more atmospheric feel.

Once we'd completed this song, I got out of the vocal recording room and into the studio with Brad. We opened up "Seesaw, Marjorie Daw" and began to align various lyrics and harmonies with each other - making sure the beginnings and endings of each word matched up with each other, as well as ensuring the pitching was accurate all the way through. In two hours, we covered about three or four phrases! Quite tricky at times, but the result is very satisfying!

Sorry, but no audio this time! Will try to have some more for next time!
